Live8 was AMAZING

I know I'm late to the party, but I just got off my 2 week vacation. I was at Live8 Philly just about all day(I live a 5 minute walk), and it was insane. I only liked some of the performers - Kanye, Linkin Park, Jay-Z, Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi....but the entire experience was unreal, I've never seen so many people in such a small area in my life. Sure they shoved 'save africa' down out throats every few minutes, but so what? Its a free concert with tons of huge artists.

My pictures - its going to go slow because its hosted off my computer. I'm warning you now.

I watched it at home, and I thought Linkin Park was HORRIBLE. The guy couldn't hit a key and he sounded almost tonedeaf. He sounds decent on the albums but he was really horrid in Philly. I thought Bon Jovi looked like they were remote controlled figurines just going through the motions. They looked like they'd rather be fishing. BEP always rock .

that's because linkin park throws out one of the sorriest live performances ever

LP was pretty bad...the shows were great overall though. I was amazed at the reception Will Smith received, especially when everyone sang along to the Fresh Prince theme song.

I was by the far right screen (the one not attached to the stage)...we got to Philly Friday night, but had to meet other people so I couldn't pack into the main crowd. 🙁

He's a hometown hero. They love him there.

Yeah, but I guess I expected more haters as well as the lovers. But I totally respect the guy, so no worries.

I heard the Philly show was a complete craphole. Everyone was drunk and left the place a mess, and most didn't even know what the concert was for... :disgust:

It was the US show afterall 😉 I can't say that I met enough people to get a good idea of the average attendee.

I do. When I went in the morning, we could use the Spring Garden bridge. When I went in the afternoon, the bridge was closed, so I had to walk all the way down to Market st, down to 20th, up to the Parkway, and then push through the entire mile-long crowd to get to the front.

... tell your friends to give you a couple bucks each you'll have coors or bud or something? 😉

I'd rather not drink than drink the beast or nati.

We drank Miller on Monday. 30 pack of Miller Lite - $19.50 30 pack of Beast - $11.99

When you're a poor college kid, that $8 per case means eating another day...

Not so. I'm not a Linkin Park fan. Don't have a single album. But heard them twice in two shows: Family Values and Ozfest. They perfromed flawlessly at both appearances.

I personally liked Linkin Park's set....you must realize this is one of the only times you'll EVER hear the Collision Course songs live....

I've pondered that philosphical issue myself. Considering Miller brews all of their other products in Milwaukee, are they trying to say Beast is superior to MGD and Miller Lite?

I'm more shocked at their ad campaign that has been running since last spring being blatently geared towards white trash.

If I was offended by a billboard that has a picture of one of their cans and says "Save your wife from washing a glass" then I shudder to think what someone who is uptight and female might think.
