Moved out at 16. Lived on my own since.

16? why? where did you move into? did you still go to school?

Moved in with a friend. Parents were alright with it. I spent about a year fvcking up my life, got too high to finish school. I'm 25 now and have no regrets. Finished up school and live on my own.

I moved out when I went to college (17, lived in the college town year-round, after getting permission as a freshman to live off-campus), but moved back hoem after graduation (22) so I could have the financial freedom to spend some time looking for a quality post-grad job. I found a job within 6 months, and I moved out again within the year.

my older sister didn't move out until she was 25, though... commuted to college from home. I spent long years making fun of her for it 😛

Moved out when I was 18. Moved back in for 6 months when I came back from Cali and didn't have a job. As soon as I had one, out again.

Moved out @ age 18, never looked back, but those were different times, and it looks like we're headed into another recession.

I have met 50-60 year old guys still living with mom. They're usually pretty fvcked in the head.

Moved out to go to school at 18...moved back after I graduated.

Got a job and continued living there for a year while my house was building. Out for good at 22...

I am 49 and I live with parents.

I really hope it's "your parents are living with you, and you're being a kind caregiver."

Otherwise, you should PM StormRider and the two of you can arrange a play date sometime.

You know how your mom would always say when you pay the bills you can do what you want.I took that seriously.Graduated high school moved out the next day. Its been a blast.

Same, but I was 17. Now a junior in college and I <3 my apartment 🙂

Moved out at about 20. Never moved back in. My sister moved in and out several times from 18-22 before she finally stayed independent. I know someone who is still living with his parents at 50 (moved out a few times over the years, but I don't see him living independently anytime soon.) Yes, he's really messed up. Not everyone in his position are mentally ill, but it's pretty common.
