Hennessy is about 25 miles south of Enid Oklahoma. I'm watching the coverage live on a local station now.

Growing up in Oklahoma and having a home in southern Kansas as well, tornadoes like this were almost common. It's an amazing sight for sure. I once saw three tornadoes all within a matter of yards away from one another, and after about 15 seconds of touching down they coalesced into one.

Anyway, it's impressive and sobering at the same time.

And just like that it's gone. That one lasted a while, but it didn't seem to hit anything. It missed a farm house and the silos by about 100 yards.

Don't be fooled. That is a very nasty wall cloud and could drop one again at any time.

Not fooled at all. In fact there's another new one that just popped up.

Scary stuff.
I experienced a tornado when I was about 15.
My mother woke me up at about 2 am, and told me she thought it was a tornado.
Being the typical teen, I told her, it was just a bad storm, let me sleep.
Then the air conditioner I had in the window, flew into the room, hit my leg. and me and her ran for the bathroom and stood in the shower.
It literally picked up the house off the foundation and dropped it, destroying the foundation blocks, but leaving the house all except most of the roof alone. Walked outside and our large oak tree was on it side, and the doghouse belonging to the guy across the street, was in our yard.

He never did find the dog.

So you were inside the actual house while the tornado picked the whole house up ? :Q Did you ears pop ? Curious how high the tornado picked up the house if you could maybe sorta tell or guess ? Did it drop the house really quick or what? I guess if the tornado picked up the house really high then dropped it you may have been dead.

Yes I was inside the house .
I would guess it picked it up about a foot or so. It was high enough that the force from dropping it back on the foundation destroyed the concrete block foundation all the way around.
It was a lot of noise, shaking, then you could kinda feel the house move up then it crashed back down after about 2 secs.

The tree in the backyard was an old oak and it uprooted it like it was a twig.
Our neighbor had his dog chained to the doghouse, chain was there, but no dog :(

That was sad about the dog. I would run for my pets if I heard or saw a tornado coming. Though most of them already know to run to the bathroom when bad weather is around.
