What processor does this thing take? According to Shuttle support, it won't take a Celeron D:

I guess any skt 478 that isn't a Prescott core.

A little info on the VIA chipset this board uses: Link

But for ~$20, it's a steal.

If anyone wouldn't mind posting some links to compatible processors at NewEgg or other stores like that, it would be appreciated. I'm having trouble finding them. (I must be searching for the wrong thing.)

The site is really slow - I wouldn't think so many people would want this.

Mine shipped too and I ordered this morning...though I can't find a processor that will run in it so not sure if I'll use it or not.

Heh I soldered my old Epox P4 board with a new cap that's got it hobbling along fairly decently, except I think the RAID chipset on it just went bonkers (might not be the chipset itself obviously) and made the RAID array lock up the machine every 10 seconds. The data on my raid array appears intact but I haven't been able to access it for about a month now lol.

Oh so my point is, that's the sucky thing about proprietary onboard raid, when it breaks you gotta go find a compatible standalone card =(

Awww just realized it's OOS...was gonna order one just in case my crappy soldering job went bad lol

Or you could use Linux. The software RAID can understand most of the proprietary RAID adapter data!

I got mine today and as it turns out, it is NOT the AV49V/N motherboard. It is actually the AV49P motherboard...

Differences between the two are that the AV49P has:
400/533/800 mhz FSB (instead of 400/533)
VIA PT800+VT8237 chipset (instead of P4X400+VT8235)
2 DIMM slots (instead of 3)
AGP 2.0/3.0 (instead of 1.0/2.0)
4 PCI slots (instead of 5)
2 serial ATA ports (instead of 0)
8 USB ports (instead of 6)

So...is it a better motherboard? Thoughts?
