Blind emotional liberals will rank poverty number one, no surprise there. But be realistic, how does poverty affect your daily lives?

Don't give me the BS about terrorism is a upshot of poverty. And if you think throwing money at certain countries is the way to solve this problem, you are dead wrong. America and the Europeans have given billions of dollars to the Palestinians, but it all went into the pockets of Arafat and his fellow terrorist politcians and the terrorist groups.

The world donates billions of dollars to Africa each year, for both poverty and to downgrade the spread of aids. Yet that barely has any affect as the corrupt politicians steal the money and take it for themselves. If you want to engage poverty, you will have to get rid of the corrupt regimes all over the world. Until that happens, there will always be poverty. Be realistic for a instance, there has been poverty since the creation of man and there will always be.

There is poverty in every country and in every city. You just have to live with it.

I think can'o'worms has some very valid, realistic points to be made about some of the social problems europe has. But at the same time i think they are blown out of proportion, just as the bush admin does with terrorism. But everyone has their own focus, and without these points shown or addressed, they will come under the radar as knowledge will be slim or non-existent.

There is poverty, and i accept it as inevitable, but we as a society should strive to limit the amount of poor. I think this is done through education, and from this job creation. When i say i want poverty solved, i am not supporting aid or excessive welfare, don't be so ignorant. I was those who are less fortunate to accumulate wealth and become an integral part of society. Not something to be overlooked or to "live with".

Also, i think it is very naive of you to indicate that liberals are the only ones with compassion for their fell man. I have met some great people who do happen to live within poverty conditions. Do i feel obligated to give them money?...no...do i care for them as a friend?...yes...would i offer them a job given the responsibility...maybe.

Don't be so narrow minded with your labels and views.

No, I'm obsessed with bashing Europe's backwards policies on immigrants and minorities. Are you obsessed and incessantly post against people bashing those policies? YES. Look at this thread for a perfect example.

And if you read my posts, I didn't claim that there were concentration camps in Europe. They were trying to set them up in the paradise of the Libyan desert.

nukes are defensive historically, but would become immediately offensive in the hands of a terrorist, and terrorism is related to poverty... as is AIDS in Africa. African farmers can't make good money because of farm subsidies in developed nations that drive world market prices down... Which relates to Trade/Protectionism & Globalization.

I would've, if I had voted seriously. I picked other health problem 'cause it was the stupidest one on there, and I didn't want to bias my own poll.

AIDS is going to kill a lot more people than terrorism has ever killed since its modern invention by the Russians. It already has, and it shows no signs of slowing. The equivalent of the entire body count from the Tsunami dies there every week.

And that's not an important problem? You don't think that this kind of large-scale death doesn't contribute to the political instability there? What happens when a gov't is overthrown by a populist extremist Islamic group? Will you think it's a problem then? When it starts threatening you? Poverty because it's what affects most people ATM.
Climate change because, once it has happened it cannot be undone.
AIDS, because it has the greatest effect on our chances to fight poverty and the way we live.
