Little League World Series

I didn't know it's that time of the year again. I like watching little league because they don't last long as MLB so I won't get bored as easily.

Who do you think will win this year? We pretty much stack the deck by being in the final every year. 😀

I don't really enjoy the little league world series. I not a big fan the MLB World Series either, but I enjoy watching MLB games.

I think the age limit only have 2-3 years window. But I remember that year. We really did kick everyone's butt that year. Too bad there are only two games where we play the other nations. there should be more.

Nah... Danny Almonte DID win the high school championship here in NYC! The game took place at Shea Stadium so I'm sure the Mets were watching. He will be their next #1 prospect... then trade him for garbage.

I hate the little league WS, its always stacked in favor of the USA

I always had a good laugh when the Taiwanese team came into town to play against the USA. 9-0 Taiwan, 11-0 Taiwan, lol lol! A serious clobbering. Why aren't they playing? All I found was a statement saying.

The Chinese Taipei Baseball Association decides leagues in Taiwan will not charter with Little League.

🙁

Thats a good question...not exactly sure. I'd like to know why too.

I remember a while back....I read that they said that Taiwanese schools do not meet the limit requirement of enrollment. Something like there were too many kids in the school so they disallowed the teams? But since its a small island with a huge population, all the schools have way too many kids so theres no way of meeting that enrollment limit.

But Japan has been dominating Asia in Taiwan's place.

Check again, the Taiwanese team has returned this year!!! First time since 1996 when they won it all.

They are 2-0 in Pool C, I think, playing a stronger team today at 5PM EST, Panama.

So do you know the real reason why they were gone?

There were some questions on how they supposely recruit the best players for a region and stick them in one school. It comes as a suprise to me that they were playing this year. So who knows?

Because taiwanese team won every single time, the american eventually got fed up, so they impose a rule that says blah blah blah...so taiwanese team cannot participate in the little league. I dunno why taiwanese team is allowed to return this year, but all is good then.

I read somewhere how Taiwan beat the US so badly in one WS game that after that they created the Mercy rule where if you lead by a certain number of runs after 5 innings the game is over. 😀

Actually, there is this mercy rule in Olympics as well. The japanese team beat the Italian team 11-0, the game was over after 7 inning.

yeah, i know. But i think the original idea of the Mercy rule came back when a Taiwan team beat up the US so bad that the kids started crying and didn't want to finish the game.

i like watching it. "take me out to the ballgame"
i just love baseball. take a trip to Cooperstown, NY, and you'll know what i mean.
