little desktop question ... how do I ...

I accidently removed the square little "desktop" icon from the task bar at the bottom. This little thingy is very valuable to me when I have about 20 open pages and need to get to my desktop. I tried putting in a shortcut but it creates a folder. How do I get that icon back there? Thanks!
 
create a file called "Show Desktop.scf" in your quicklaunch directory containing the following:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
