Little Caesar's $5 pizzas are the cheapest calories you can get at any fast food restaurant

They sometimes have those $5 specials here and usually have a guy outside the intersection I pass on my way home. Very dangerous. I can't say no to a $5 pizza! Of course there is a catch... it's $5 without the toppings. Each topping adds a dollar. But still, under 10 bucks for a pizza is a steal.

I don't know, I think that you could probably do even better at an $8.95 "all you can eat" Chinese lunch buffet in terms of a calories per dollar ratio if you were a total pig about it.

I don't know. It's hard to beat Costco $1.50 hotdog and drink combo. And $10 for 18" combo pizza at Costco is hard to beat as well.

Sam's club has the same deal....huge 32oz coke and a large Nathan's dog for $1.50.....or a slice of pizza and a Coke for $2.50. The slice is probably a 6th of a LC pizza (size wise), but much better. Drink enough coke with it and you'll land more calories.

Little Ceasars used to be super good back in the day, like when they were a "normal" pizza place. But now I think their whole business model is that they are cheap pickup-only pizza and not necessarily aiming for the stars. They can charge so cheap by not having to worry about offering delivery services or taking special orders. You basically take what they have in stock. If you're hungry for a pizza and not too fussy it's not a bad.

I still find it good fresh, it's just so freaking greasy lol. You could probably drain the oil out of an engine and shove the whole pizza in there and you're good for another 5000km.

The older I get - and the harder it is to lose weight the more I weigh the value of calories I'm getting.

If it's 1,000+ calories, it had better be fucking delicious.

Stuff like All you can eat buffets are the absolute worst - ultimately it tastes like crap - almost like chugging vegetable oil itself... Yet has massive calories. No thanks, I'd rather spend that on some fucking delicious ice cream or a nice barrel aged stout beer.

Not the same. I've both Sam's Club and Costco membership and frequent both warehouses. The Sam's Club hot dog is way smaller than Costco version. Costco all beef hot dog is much larger mass and length wise and the bun is better as well. And Sam's Club pizza is smaller than Costco. Sam's Club pizza is 16" vs 18" for Costco. Costco pizza slices are bigger than the Sam's slices. And Costco pizza tastes better although that's subjective.

Most of the cheap pizza places now use fake cheese. Cheese is the most expensive ingredient on a pizza. Which is why I stick with Costco food court pizza. $10 for 18" large combination pizza is hard to beat and they use real mozzarella shredded cheese.

I don't they were ever that good. Back in the 80's they were the worst except for Godfathers <shudder>.

Their $5 Hot N Ready pizzas are pretty mediocre. Their Deep Deep Dish pizzas are much better.

I don't see how the Sam's dog could be much bigger...maybe it's regional? I'm 80 miles from Costco and 1 mile from Sam's, so I've not had the luxury to compare. I just know that both pizza and hot dogs are meal-sized portions. Anyone ordering extra has a problem.

The $5 Little Caesar's pizzas are great if you get them fresh, but I to have correct the OP, they do came with one topping, pepperoni.
I think they're pretty good, actually, but yeah they gotta be fresh. Otherwise they're kinda "meh."

Their Crazy Bread is off the f'ing hook, though. So good. Oh and that butter garlic sauce (I use it for dipping the crust in) is awesome.

I actually like Little Caesars for what it is. Their pepperoni has a unique flavor that I like. I'll pick up a thin crust pepperoni and mushroom once in a while and they still only charge me $5.

Has anyone tried their app to order? It's crazy! You order though the app, scan a QR code at the store, and a machine spits out your pizza :D

Definitely bang for buck. You can order the Lunch Combo pan pizza without a drink and save yourself a buck ... yielding lunch for $4 +tax.
I can stretch the $5 large into 3 lunches though.

LC makes their dough in-store, and uses a blend of muenster and mozzarella cheeses. I always order something Hot 'n Ready because I'm not inclined to wait around. They're basically competing with frozen pizza.

You can eat it, or blot it. I personally pat down my fresh pizza with a couple paper towels to absorb the pools of grease. Hey, it's cheese and pepperoni - they both have natural oil that'll bleed out.

You have to be careful to not go too far though. I know someone who got banned from olive garden pigging out on some of their unlimited pasta. He's a really skinny guy too. I don't know how he can eat so much.

I'll have to try that next time, I always just give the drink to someone else.

You can just order 20 minutes ahead of time and get a fresh one from the pizza portal.
The deep dish definitely holds up a lot better than the traditional when they're in the Hot'N'Ready thing though.
