It's damned good, but I think the League of Gentlemen is far better. Don't think it'd go down well in the US though; there are no canned audience *THIS WAS A JOKE: LAUGH NOW* sort of moments.
I don't think you can get a darker comedy, and the screenplay/production value is fantastic.

You lot should get some Black Books. It's by Dylan Moran, with Bill Bailey (w00t!), and it's fvcking hilarious.

Same, I don't understand why people like it.

Bring back The Fast Show :(

 Paul Whitehouse

The Fast show blows goats, and not in a good way, either. I found it was more about repetition - the same characters making the same jokes over and over ("Hi! I'm Ed Winchester"). To an extent Little Britain is the same in so much that it has many of the same characters every episode, but the sketches are far more varied. It's also kept fresh with funny little random clips in between sketches, etc. I also prefer Little Britain because we can all see where these characters have come from. For example, we've all seen a Vikky Pollard walking around the streets.

Little Britain also was inspired by the League of Gentlemen in many ways. One example that springs to mind is the job hunting woman in LoG and the fat fighters in LB. Pretty much identical characters.

It's all good stuff, however. There have been so many timeless British comedies that are mind-blowing: Monty Python, Black Adder, Bottom, The Young Ones, Big Train, Spaced, Black Books, Teachers (first 2 series), Brass Eye, Benny Hill(?), Red Dwarf, Max and Paddy, The Office, Only Fools and Horses, etc etc etc....

I love British comedy.

Ah, now, Spaced - that was funny stuff.
Red Dwarf was always good until it got a real budget, then things went horribly wrong.
Black Adder goes forth was always my favourite, including the Flasheart episode
