This is a PAL version PS3 game. Playstation 3 games are not region-locked. Therefore, you will be able to play the PAL PS3 games perfectly on your American PS3 system. Online play in LittleBigPlanet is also region-free, so you will be able to play online against American players. The only difference is revealed when you want to download content from Playstation Network for the game. To do this with a PAL PS3 game, you will need to create a European PSN account to access the DLC. Anyone can do this, and it is not difficult.
The LittleBigPlanet experience starts with players learning about their character's powers to interact physically with the environment. There are obstacles to explore, bits and pieces to collect and puzzles to solve requiring a combination of brains and collaborative teamwork. As players begin to explore, their creative skills will grow and they will be ready to start creating and modifying their surroundings the first step to sharing them with the whole community. Creativity is part of the gameplay experience and playing is part of the creative experience. Players can make their world as open or as secretive to explore as they like. When it's ready, they can invite anyone within the LittleBigPlanet community to come and explore their patch -- or can go and explore everybody else's.

I almost went for it, but decided the hassle of maintaining a Euro PSN account wasn't worth it.

PS3 doesn't have regional code anymore. So you can, literally, play any PS3 game in the world with any PS3 in the world.

Only problem possible is TV output with analog connection, but if you use HDTV to play, it won't be issue as 720p is 720p anywhere (So does 1080i).

should've waited to pay for this game. paid the full retail $60 and didnt even boot it up more than twice. damn xbox live and all...
