I must have been living in a cave... I have seen the Energizer E2 Lithum Line in stores but didn't realize it is an entirely different product from regular Alkaline.

so, can they be recharged?
and Question number 2) how do they compare to traditional Alkaline batteries?

http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/ticker/article.asp?Symbol=US:ENR&Feed=PR&Date=20040107&ID=3258434

from that article, it seems like Lithum is a bit better than the alkaline ones... so why don't Engergizer or Duracell replace the entire alkaline production line then?

There is a conspiracy in the battery industry. The really good batteries (ones that last twice as long) are not sold to the public. :(

elaborate. Which magic batteries that last twice as long for less than 2x the price or are rechargeable?
