Ummm...I can't see spending that much money for something my child will outgrow in 1 year. Saving for college would be a wiser investment, IMHO.

it would last 100 years so you could have all of your kids use it, then your grandkids, then your great-grandkids. it would end up paying for it self sometime down the road.;)

I honestly doubt they really sell very many of these things. I'd wager someone at Litespeed made one out of scrap ti for his kid as a goof and they just decided to sell them for the hell of it. Anyone who could afford one probably makes enough money that they won't have serious issues paying for school anyway.

Well, obviously these bikes are not aimed at the rational, or to those who actually have to think about money. :p

$850 = Ouch.

Might be cool in adult size... with hard plastic rear wheels as an option. :D

Yeah, there are probably people who buy it to hand it down again and again...kind of a legacy of sorts. Others probably buy it for the wow factor. Still others would pay anything for the best, and this fits the bill.

Actually it's more along the lines of many cyclists having a titanium fetish. I know plenty of guys with ti wedding bands, watches, etc. Your average wealthy "I must own the best of everything" person has probably never even heard of Litespeed.

well that's why we have gas powered skateboards and scooters now. Kids are to fat and lazy to peddel themselves around.

Heh. My Trek 2000 road bike with a Shimano 105 27-speed drivetrain and carbon fork barely costs more than that tricycle. :p Even my friend's Litespeed only cost about US$1600. And that's a full Campagnolo 30-speed road bike.

I'm not completely surprised that Litespeed has this on their product list. What really surprises me is that a mail order bike shop has it IN STOCK.

Yeah, the tricycle reminds me of Litespeed''s titanium crutches, which debuted a few years ago when Mark Lynsky broke his leg. Litespeed has always left me a little cold, but I guess this is still the world's coolest tricycle.

There were gas-powered scooters and skateboards in the 60's and 70's too.
