I am not kidding. I have a Sony 48x (which I think is based on a Lite-On) and it's clearly audible - although it doesn't sound like a jet. A friend of mine on the other hand just got a new computer (a week ago) with a brand new Lite-On 52x burner and it's not just clearly audible it sounds like a blowdryer turned on the highest level. I'm not joking.Originally posted by: Anubis

How long is the warranty with the Samsung? I thought most burners had a warranty of about 6months.
My Liteons have been running strong for a long while and I don't think the buffer makes that much of a
difference when considering a burner now cause a lot of DVD burners have been coming out with only a
2 meg buffer as well.
