LiteOn LTR0841 - any personal experiences with this CD Burner?

4000 people on this site and nobody has even heard of this CDRW?? I'll paste the only info I have seen about this unit, LiteOn 8x/4x/32x. You'll note that it uses burnproof.

I have one LiteOn. It's sold under the name of Maxell, 8432, no burnproof.

But after 2 firmware updates, it is now LTR12101B, can do 12x CDR 10x CDRW with BURNPROOF! Good deal, I got it for about a little over US$100

I have it, it came with my Micron prebuilt system... works good so I can't complain...I do wish there was mor info on them though.

I am the Liteon fanatic on this board. I've tried countless times to tell people about the awesome deal with the ltr-0841 flash to a 12x10x burner. Finally people are listening. It works with clonecd, and has burnproof.

i was thinking of getting the ricoh 8x8x32x, but now that you have got my attention.....

Yep that's the drive. It still works like a dream after I flashed it to 12x10x.

Please do and don't fall into the: &quot;Plextor rules everything else sucks&quot; trap.

I won't. Plextor's (although good) are a bit too expensive for me. I'd rather spend $$$ on something else (like faster proc)

Alright, I got it working at 12x!!!! but only with Easy CD creator. Nero 5 / CDRWin 3.8 / CloneCD all can't recognize the liteon 8x4x32. I flashed it to LS17, can't flash to LS22 from the liteon website because it gave me &quot;verify failed&quot; error. I can't go back to 8x4x32 too because the link form the original post is dead. The one from liteon is windows based, it wouldn't allow me to use the 8x4x32 firmware update becaues it thinks I have the 12x10x32 (since I flashed to the LS17 firmware)

ForeverSilky: did you flashed your liteon to LS22? how did you do it? I know you couldn't use it with clonecd, and has burnproof without the LS22 update.

This unit is sounding like a POS to be honest - too little info and much trouble unless you use it &quot;as advertised&quot;.
