liteon burner problem

is my liteon going bad already? today, i tried to burn a cd, and it burn successful, but it just locks up after it finish. i realize that the burner is having problems reading the disc after its done. i tried two burns, and both have same result. burn is fine and i can read them on my cdrom drive. i have to reboot my computer to eject the disc cuz it just kept blinking green and locks up. here is what i notice. burns okay, but once it writes leadout, it trys to read the disc and locks up. i put other older burned cds, and it locks up too. i put orginal audio cd and data cd, they get rejected and is ejected within 10sec of inserting. it appears my liteon is having problem reading both burned, and real oringal cds its not really a big deal if i can somehow config cdrwin/nero to not check cdr once its done burning and eject, but i can't seem to figure it out. this burner is only a couple of months old and i got it from newegg, you think i can rma or replace this somehow? very annoying that i have reboot computer after i finish burning a cd to get it out:|

Are you overburning?
do you have anohter burner to check to see if it is the Lite on unit?

Don't worry, it's not the drive going bad... had same problem myself and drive is still in use by a friend, I'm trying to remember how I corrected the problem but it's not your drive. Have you rebooted your system since the problem occured?

no, i am not over burning. just burning some vcd on TDK 40x CDR made by ritek. ill be trying another brand of cdr when i finish getting simone ;p.

jonny, i have powered down my pc, include unpluging the power in the back for 10sec, same result. as stated earlier, i tried real orginal audio and data cd, they get rejected. any burned media just kept attemping to read and locks up the burner. if i put a burned media inside, i have to reboot comp to eject the disc before it tries to read it during bootup. i even trying blowing air into the drive while the slot is out, didnt help. it would help alot if u remember how u fix this issue jonny. thanks

i also just logged into newegg, and it appears i brought this late january2002. the only option i have from them is RMA repair. its way over 3months and i brought oem from them. will i be able to rma? i never done rma before, how does the process work?

nope jonny, i have not used directcd. i dont think its software related. since i been rebooting alot recently, i went to my mobo bios so that my comp wont load windows xp. been inserting different types of discs, and same result. that pretty much isolate it from being software. when i was in my bios, burned media wont pick up, and reject pressed cds.

okay, i just burned another cd, this time i used nero, reduce speeds to 8x, and used ricoh platinum blank cdrs. same result, it burns leadouts, solid red light becomes flashing green and locks up there agian.

nooooooooooooooooo, my drive is bad i think :|
