Liteon 16102b 16x10x40 drive slow?

I got a returned Liteon at the store, (last one). I own NFSPU game, (SD2), and want to make a back-up copy with CloneCd (3.3.4.1). I've never seen CloneCd before, so trying to figure out the settings. I get ClonyXL, it says just check the skip errors, as I remember..., so fumble with CloneCd, and decide to burn a backup copy of my game. I read that with my firmware rev. (0S0F) that I should use 4x to read/write just to be safe. Ok, I start reading from disk to hd, and the est. time is 5hr 45min! So I decide it's 16x or nothing, even at 16x, it says 1hr something. Is this the real time that it is going to take, or is there something wrong with this drive? Thanks.

Yeah, the 16X version is slow
Get the 40X version...... only $80 at dell.com
😀

Yes, anyway, this drive chirps like a bird when copying to the hd, my 12102b doesn't, as far as speed, it must be using the 16x, not the 40x, when it copies, (I don't know these things). Because of the time it would take to make backup copies of my game disks, and the "bird" noises, it's going back. I can quite easily use the no-cd patches for free. I have the faster CD-R in my cart at Dell, but the $80 can be spent elsewhere, so guess it's over.
