Lite On DVD rom..but which one?

Ok guys i'm looking to get a dvd rom

searched newegg..but has 2 diff dvd rom models for lite on LT-165H and LT-163


which one u guys recommend or are all those pretty much the same thing?

Recently, my Lite-On dvd drive has been driving me nuts. I put in a cd and it keeps trying to read the cd but it never does. The disc keeps spinning and the light keeps blinking. Then my computer freezes. Anyone experience this?

THe 165h is smaller( shorter). Not sure about performance, but it looks and felt lighter and cheaper. I had both and keep the 163. Anyone test comparison?

I grabbed a 165H from newegg.com. The performance is much better. It does not stop spinning when doing software installations or converting music files to mp3. The older onces stopped spinning after about 30 seconds and never spinned up quickly after that. The 165H is shorter. I am going to get rid of the 163 model.

It happens with my old Hitachi DVD drive too. Usually happens to me when I put a real scratched up CD into the drive.
