Lite-On CD-RW no longer works

Hit enter by accident This should be in another forum.

It worked fine up untile a few days ago when i re-installed XP, and now nero doesn't detect the drive. I can read CD's and it shows up in my computer. I checked the aspi drivers and it said none were installed, so I installed them and it didn't make any difference. The only option i get to choose in nero is "virtual drive".

My friend has the exact same drive and i took mine to his house and it works just fine there, same version of nero and both runnign XP. Drive is set to master with no other drives on the channel also.

Any idea's?

Yep, a few times. Including once before and after i installed the aspi drivers. I'm using the cd that came with the drive and worked before.

funny thing just happened to me. my lite-on burns cd's, but won't read them. i know the cd's r good becuz i pop them into my second rig and it's fine. maybe i just need to reboot

are you using the latest version of nero?

Well, yep...the update works. I didn't know the updates were free with OEM versions. My version SHOULD work though
