Lite on Burner Problem. Help!

I purchased a LITE-ON LTR-24102B to replace an HP burner that I could not stand. I have been very happy with it, but have just found a problem I haven't been able to solve. It will not eject any CD-RW disc. It will accept one and read it just fine, but when I hit the eject button or do it from the PC itself, it will not eject and the drive freezes. I have removed all of the old HP software and also re-installed the driver. Any ideas why this might be happening?

Try updating the firmware as well. If that does not work, you may not be able to eject it manually as Tominator said.

I've two different buners, a Plextor and a Lite-on. Both does the same thing you are describing. After burning files into a CD-RW, I can only eject the disc by going into "My Computer" > right clicking on the burner's icon > clicking on "Eject" in the drop down menu. In the Plextor's case, I have to go into "Properties" and eject from there. But that isn't the case when burning a CD-R. And, updating the firmware didn't change anything. So, I think that's how the process is for CD-RW's.

I don't remember having this problem with my LiteOn, but I'll have to check it out later tonight..

I am using Incd. I have tried ejecting using my computer and the drop down, but only after trying the eject button on the drive. I will try to eject using the drop down menu first. Is there something else that I could use besides Incd that would not cause this. This is the one are where the HP was superior. If not, I can live with it as it would only be a minor irritaion. Thanks for the help!

if it's like directCD then you can right click the icon in systray & hit eject!
the program seems to lock the drive so you have to eject via software.

Ejecting using the systemtray works, but Incd still seems to be causing some problems. Is there some other way that I can use CD-RW's on this drive without using Incd?
