Lite On 32X12X40 CDRW $65+~$15 Shipping

<< it's about the same price from newegg.com right now if you are planning on buying one. i bought this same drive from newegg 2 weeks ago for around $98 w/o shipping costs. it's down to 90 + 8 shipping now. >>

$98 compared to $80? Is it really worth spending $18 more just to order form Newegg.com?

Of course it's worth more to order from newegg--that way you can add the case badge to your order and watch the shipping go up by four or six bucks for something that weighs about as much as a postage stamp!😉

Smartass 😀

For me, sometimes it is worth it to pay more for something from newegg..i've had issues w/ 2 IBM 60GXP's in the past, and they've replaced them w/ absolutely no hassle or trouble, even 2-3 months after i purchased them......

well,
I just ordered the lite-on, I guess we'll see how good they are.
They also have that WD 120 HD for $173, not sure if its the 8meg buffer one tho

Are those CenDynes ALL Lite-Ons, or just some of them? I might just have to pick up a new writer. (My 6x is starting to be not so fast, and it's reader is wearing out.)

<< People are getting rebadged 32x Lite-ons for $54.99 (free shipping) with the officeMax 32x CenDyne deal.LINK >>

But, is this not for a first time purchaser reduction of $25?

Side Note: You linked this thread not the CenDyne one.

yes, actually i think it is, so you don't have to risk buying from leroy's ghetto emporium dot com.

(insert stupid emoticon here)

FunkyPorcini....(Side Note: You linked this thread not the CenDyne one)

LOL! My bad! The link is fixed.

Jman13.....(Are those CenDynes ALL Lite-Ons, or just some of them?)

From what the guys who have received the CenDyne 32x drive and posted which one they got, I would say 85% received either a Lite-on or a Verbatim (rebadged Lite-on) drive, other 15% got the Mitusmi 32x drive (16Mb Buffer and supports the 'Mt. Rainier' format).

I tried finding a re-badged Lite-on Cendyne, but the stores I went to were all Mistumi, so Id rather not hassle it and just get somethin' now. Also not have to hassle with MIR.

Not that Im aware of,
I ordered it and got a very nice html receipt by email- IMHO nicer than many etailers Ive dealt with that seem bigger. Today I got a confirmation of order and that they are sending it. Also I dont see that drive anymore on the site, I guess its sold out.

My local OfficeMax had some Cendyne 32X CDRWs for $79.99 AR, or $55 online using the $25 off $100. I checked the serial numbers and one of them was a Lite-On. I already got my Lite-On 24X from Omax last week or I'd have snagged that one.

jeeze... my rebadged lite-on 16x is looking pitifully slow with all these 32 and 40x deals 🙁

Then again, a minute or two difference doesn't matter that much 🙂

Got my drive and installed it. It came with Nero 5.5x and bare drive.

Works great, I love burning a 80 minute disk in 3:47!!!
I also kept my 16x lite-on installed and did a test of the same thing, it took 5:45.
