That is the lowest price I have ever seen for a DVD burner. (Although it does seem they are getting cheaper by the day).

It's amazing how cheap stuff has gotten. I have a slimline external Bluray burner at work, it was like $90 new. Uses a single USB cable for both power & data. I rarely use it though since everything is in the cloud or via USB sticks or whatever. I mean, I just picked up a metal keyring 64GB stick with USB 3.0 for like $25. And not that they're cost-effective, but you can get USB sticks in up to 1 Terabyte these days:

I'd hate to leave that in my pocket in the washing machine! :awe:

$16.49 shippped Lite-On EBAU108 External DVD-Writer - Black
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106104

Coupon code: NEWEGG25
25% Off Select External DVD/Blu-ray Writers through Jul 30, 2014

Almost bought the internal drive, so cheap, so little used, after telling myself I wouldn't buy any more. External might be the last one I buy, while it holds up.

I think everyone wants BRD, maybe no one is buying DVD burners anymore...

The external Lite-On came yesterday, it is very slim, looks nice, and seems to work fine (at least for playback of audio cds :)). The included USB cord is ridiculously short, I can see it working in some instances, otherwise a longer one is needed. Now if we could have external BR writers this cheap...

Ordered the internal drive in the OP, but it is now listed at $19.99, but used a code from the latest sales e-mail (EMCPBPW77) to get it down to $14.99.

I was putting together a system from spare parts a few days ago to re-use some IDE drives, including an old Lite-ON CD burner. Could not get it to read my Windows 7 disc, after many tries realized win 7 was on a DVD! I had only some old DVD Rom drives. Felt wrong not having burner in there. Problem solved!
Thanks OP!
