Listening to the new Nightwish CD

I have only heard 'Amaranth', it's an OK song I guess. Anette's voice seems a little too thin and airy, though.

I like her voice - it's definitely different than Tarja.

But then I also like more classical sounds/opera/etc. and her voice is more of that - at least in this release.

It's really a great album. I wouldn't say anette is better or worse than tarja, just different. They both have beautiful voices. The actual metal sound is what I like the most about the band though.

I just watched the video for Amaranth on Youtube -- Anette is very attractive!

If you like a heavy sound with a female vocalist, check out a band called To-Mera, they're metal with a prog leaning.

Definitely gets a like from me. I can get my Tarja fix by listening to her new album (My Winter Storm) anyway. Anette gives NW a nice, fresh sound, I think.

I heard "amarath" a while back... or tried to listen to it and had to shut it off because it was so fucking dreadful. While the music is very similar to the old stuff, the new singer is really quite horrible, I don't wtf they were thinking when they hired her.

I like:
Over the Hills & Far away
Amaranth
Wish I had an Angel

Just started listening to them and those are the track names i remember.

I was never a fan of Nightwish under Tarja. Sure, she has a great voice, but the music never really came together for me. I love the Dark Passion Play though, especially the full orchestra combined with their power metal sound. I also like Anettes style more, she definitly helped make me a fan.
