Please do not list any Blink 182! :| I'm sick of them, and quite frankly I don't think they have any talent. I mean, just look at Dammit.. Any average 5 year old could play that song - and whoever sings for Blink 182 has an annoyingly whiney voice. :)

So, now that I've cleared that up.. List away! Oh and please don't limit yourself to pennywise/goldfinger style stuff... Anything reaching out to Linkin Park, Finger Eleven, that kind of stuff, is all good. Just on pop style music, or rap, country, jazz, blues (I like jazz and blues, but this thread is not about that).

I'll name a few bands I like, to start off:

Pennywise
Goldfinger
MxPx
Local H
Fuel
Offspring
Rancid
Papa Roach
Treblecharger
Weezer
Three Doors Down
Eve 6

OK, I won't get carried away...Your turn!

A New Found Glory
Midtown
Goldfinger
Saves the Day
Allister
RX Bandits
Schleprock
Sick of it All
Ten Foot Pole
The Ataris
Lagwagon
Alkaline Trio

I can think of TONS more. Just let me know if you care. ;)

List more! I haven't heard of a lot of those bands.. Hopefully I like them!

Oh, I have to add Incubus and Silverchair to my list. :)

The Ramones
The Clash
Siouxsie and the Banshees
The Sex Pistols

I guess you guys will be using me for petrol before too long... I feel like a dinosaur who's been long buried... Oh well. I was punk before any of you were born, so there! :p

Thanks... That "older" stuff reminds me of some other older music I like, such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, CCR, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Stray Cats, uhm.... hmmm.

Oh yeah, now that you got me thinking... U2 - excellent.

Isla - I have London Calling by the Clash, and I love it. And the Ramones are the best 3 chord punk band ever ;)

So you're not a dinosaur :p

I was practically weaned on Blondie... :D

I may be wrong, but didn't you ask what OUR favourite music is??? and not list what we think you might like......

Not trying to be a prick here, but it just seems a bit strange

Hey, I am allowed to participate in my thread dammit. ;)

Yeah U2 is a great band, I like a lot of their stuff.

You know that song "with or without you"? Aren't there several versions of this, like a faster more punk version and a slower paced one?

Cretin

Edit: Deeko: You are into pop music are you not? Now this is all a matter of preference, what type of music you like, but shunning out all the other types just because you prefer pop is very ignorant, no offense or accusations. ;)

What, are you a future superstar? Who's to say I am not?

Deeko, you're full of yourself.

And as pointed out in a previous thread in which we 'debated', I'm in a proper band, who have managed to get signed and will be touring Ireland in Feb and europe in the spring. But unlike some, I don't like to brag about it and hardly ever bring it up here at all. ;)

I feel sorry for anyone who never saw at least one of these groups live:

Plasmatics (RIP Wendy)
Ramones
Black Flag
Circle Jerks
Dead Kennedys
Replacements (early years)
Husker Du

lol, I said Superstar :)

No but really, you have to realize that 99% of what I post in non-pop related music threads I'm just joking about.....I'm no pop superstar....I can sing well but so what, I'm not even in chorus in school :)

Everyone here forgets that I don't like pop alone, and that I've pointed it out many times. Remember my top 10? I believe only 3 or 4 of them were pop. I like pop, rap, r&b, and dance mostly. I don't shun all other types of music. I don't care for rock/alternative, but I don't think there is anything wrong with people that do. There IS something wrong with thinking that another style of music isn't music because you don't like it...that, my friend, is ignorance.

Wow.. I didn't see too many punk bands in those lists.

How about:

Misfits
Anti Nowhere League
Germs
GG Allin
Adicts
Black Flag
Circle Jerks

They are all older bands, but most of the bands are from back in the days before punk was more pop oriented.

Deeko,

Did I say those other types were not music? I don't think I did, please excuse me if I did though.

But anyway, this thread is about punk-rock music (definitely not pop, rap, r&b, hip hop, or anything like those). :)

no, you didn't say it isn't music. But most people here do. And my first post here was about punk rock....maybe you missed it?
