I miss Flying Toasters... It was the biggest ripoff of $19.95 you could buy, but everyone seemed to buy/pirate it!

I even had a 'hack' that had flying butts instead. It made me laugh hard when I was prepubescent.

My nostalgic item would be having to remember to park the heads of a portable PC before moving it.

I liked being able to switch to the monitor and be able to examine or modify the contents of memory, do some basic debugging stuff, and then return to where the system left off.

But that's somewhat less useful with modern computers; it's a little harder to interpret machine code and the contents of memory than it used to be.

I got another...

the huffing and puffing you had to do to get a damn Nintendo cartrige to work.. You buy it brand spanking new.. and then you gotta blow on it and wiggle it to play. I miss it. Sometimes it would take 5 minutes to get a game to play - building up anticipation.. Also, if you got mad and threw the controller, the game would screw up and you lose your place.. thust teaching you anger management.

Kind of like stuffing a matchbook under an 8-track tape to keep it from doubletracking.

calculator watches.. I had an awesome Casio one that would store 100 names and numbers and had 5 alarms. It was pimp. Though, it broke really easily and I had to replace it a couple of times.

I want to keep this thread alive dammit.. I want more nostalgia.
