A thought inspired by a previously posted thread..I'll list my minor annoyances.

The muscle bound jocks who like to stand in front fo the weights and eye themselves more than actually lifting.
People who sweat a small lake on the machines they are on, and do not wipe them off after using.
People who scream too loudly when lifting.
People who spend 15-20 minutes on a single machine, doing very light weights.
People who spend 15-20 minutes on a machine, talking to other people.
This one lady who comes into my gym whos face is literally orange with make up.
People who workout 5-10 minutes, and then go to the juice bar and order a huge "healthy" shake, and then leave.

Thats it for now. I'd like to hear some more annoyances, maybe I will think of some more.

I don't mind people taking a lot of time and doing very light weights. You have to start somewhere.

I do hate the people that spend more time talking while they're on the machine than actually using it.

And I hate dudes that wear wifebeaters and either don't use deodorant, or have such a powerful scent that it overpowers the deodorant.

And guys that wear short shorts.

People who talk on their mobile speaker phones while on the treadmill.

People who don't re-rack the weights when they are done.

People who don't put the dumbells in proper order when they re-rack them.

People who don't put the plates on the proper pegs when they re-rack them.

People who use chalk, and don't clean up after themselves.

People who fill HUGE bottles of water at the drinking fountain without stepping aside once in a while while a line forms behind them.

What does it matter how light someone's weights are? Because you are stronger than them? I don't see how your complaint has any validity.

my gym has a LOT of equipment so wait times are never an issue.People are usually good at wiping down stuff when they are done.I do wish we had sauna and a steam room though.

Those are all good ones. I hate when I go to the gym
(this aint that common) but i hate people who dont share. Wanted to bench a few nites ago. 3 guys were on one, and only one guy was benching on the other. I asked him, you mind if i work in with you, he looked at me like i was nutts and said, "im using it" , turned away from me and said it rude as sh!t.

:disgust:

WTF man, you can t share??????? Whats worse was it was this wimpy nerdy looking dude(may have been an ATOT'er) who was struggling with 115. I just walked away, really wasnt in the mood to start any drama, only had 30 minutes left, so i moved to something else.

No. Because 100 reps at 20 lbs, when they can obviously do more (they are not struggling to do this at all) seems kind of futile. Its just a minor annoyance, however. They aren't doing anything for their muscles doing this.

Actually, very high rep/low weight routines are good for specific muscular endurance.

I know this, but when its that low (10-20 lbs), and they aren't sweating or anything, it seems futile to me. It also hogs the machine.

He would have received a lecture from me on gym etiquette. Next time ask him why the fsck he needs to dominate the equipment in between his sets. I hate pricks like this, and luckily have only run into a couple of them.

Now, to be fair, if you are the one working in, it is your responsibility to return everything to the weight and settings the first guy had it on.

You should have waited until he was on his last rep struggling, and then pulled down the bar on his throat. ;)

The Golds Gym I go to is VERY good at keeping weights in proper order. There are HUGE signs everywhere telling people to please re-rack their weights in the proper order. When I was visiting my Mom in Ca, I went to a 24 hour Fitness and was APPALLED at the condition and disarray the weights were in. NONE of the dumbells were marked, and they were all over the gym. Who the hell wants to waste time and energy GUESSING the weights???

O i def understand that, and if i working with someone, i will return his settings to where they were. That dude was an ass. Im not lecturing at the gym, if he said no, that meant he was a b!tch, and would have rather not worked out with him. I just finished that day at the bench. I finally hit 215

#1: RE-RACK YOUR GODDAMN WEIGHTS.

Seriously, it's SUPER that you can leg press 250lbs, but that doesn't give you the right to leave 6 plates sitting on the rack for someone else to put away. I hope your shins snap in half next time you use the machine, jerkface.
