Every day I see a new abbreviation or a new acronym on these forums, it seems. It would help me a lot of some Gold Members+ could clue me in on abreviations starting from CPU (I know that one) and continuing through the ones I haven't even heard before (like nic, whatever that is).

ROFL OMG LMAO.... seriously though, we've all been there. :) There really are a ton of them. That link was decent, but didn't have FSB! (front side bus :)) Googling for "computer acronyms" will bring up several resources I've used before.

AFAIK "As far as I know"
IIRC "If I remember correctly"
YMMV "Your mileage may vary"
YAGT "Yet another girl thread"
YACT "Yet another car thread"
STFU "Shut the f up"

And tons of others

The Hacker's Dictionary is also a good source. And there are several online computer/tech dictionaries that explain most of the ones actually related to cmptr sw/hw. The rest are BBS/Internet shorthand (like those that Compudog listed) that started back when data comm was attempted at 300 bits per second (or less) and hard disk storage was 5 or 10MB - one had to make every character count. And yes, I was there... IANAL- I am not a lawyer, InMyOpinion, IMHumbleO, RollingOnFloorLaughing, ByeByeForNow etc. etc.
