nevermind. faulty info from here: http://www.newcardealers.com/cadillac-cars/2004-cadillac-cts-v-pricing.html

Caddy official site says 50k . . . . doubt it would go down to 30k after a year and a half of use.

Anyway, nevermind the CTS-V, then, but it is a nice car.

The CTS itself is a damn fine car, with employee pricing i'm sure it can be had at under 30k

This market is really as sparse as I thought! That's why I asked...

I'm determing size *mostly* by length. I consider my Sable to be large. It is technically a mid-size but it is a bigger mid-size (for example bigger than an Accord from the same year). It is 16 feet long. So that should give you an idea.

I always the figured the A4 was a compact, but I'm not quite sure of its dimensions. The 6 is definitely not big enough. An Altima may be, Maxima definitely.

Not looking for STi sporty, looking for Mazda6 sporty.

Also, I'm not buying a car, I just realized that if I were, THIS is the market I'd be in, but there really aren't that many options without spending a fortune.

A THREE??? Wouldn't quite classify that as large.

nissan maxima, a subaru wrx sti (slightly used), chrysler 300, or a dodge charger. That or buy the bentley continental gt (the new sedan one)

Well not only do I sort of consider an LS a compact to begin with, but two feet is a large difference.

The LS is the same length as your sable....so you really don't know what you want obviously.

Sure I do, just going by memory, didn't realize the size of the LS.

The A3 is 14, the A4 is 15. A4 definitely looks tiny, though.

What is the techincal difference between a compact and a mid-size?

You're probably thinking of the older A4s...those were very small. If you really want something large and sport go with a used S4 avant. Though you have to be carefull with used and audi....they don't mesh well.

If you're talking large and I guess that should be read as "bigger than midsize"... I think that killed everything off except the 300C and it's clones & the Maxima.

TL is more than 30K and is fairly close to midsize... Accord V6 is about the same size. Don't think the Avalon is big/cheap enough either...

Because it isn't large. It's not even "kinda large". It's about half a notch up from a compact car.
