I am in major need of a listserve. I tried dadamail but I couldn't get it working on 1&1. Maybe I was being stupid.

So I'm looking for some other app that's out there. I can't compile as root being on 1&1 and not having a dedicated server. So that rules out majordomo.

What's 1&1? Your webhost?

If you can't compile there, just compile it at home and upload it. But, assuming it is a webhost, are you sure you're allowed to run a mail server on it?

I don't think they'd let you run it even if you could compile it. I use MailMan for a mailing list I run. It was part of the cPanel installation on my webhosting account.

they haven't been too helpful with this. I've found a few mailing list managers but nothing that will let me manage multiple lists.

bump. I've tried a bunch from sourceforge. But nothing works the way I'd like. I'd like yahoogroups type functionality, but with more privacy.
