Anandtech, although it is accurate, indepth and speedy, IMO it doesnt review enough or items of great interest to others. Although I doubt that this is the fault of Anandtech, it might be beneficial to list a few review sites that cover some of the stuff that Anandtech cannot.

Definately thought this could be an issue for Anandtech for obvious reasons and would like Moderator and Public opinions before pressing forward.

Seeing as Anandtech is in the business of doing reviews, I don't think they'd be very receptive to posting links to competitors.

That's just my opinion though ;).

I for one would like more cooling articles. The last heatsink round up was in September of 2001. In the cooling article, don't have exlusively obscure heatinks like the JMC, Speeze, Cooljag, and others. Choose ones such as the Vantec, Thermalright, Alpha, Thermaltake, Swiftech, and Zalman coolers that are discussed in Cases and Cooling. Include temperature measurements as well as noise measurements. An article on watercooling would be nice. I know there are a lot, but more variety is always nice.

That is the major category that I would like to see improved Zuni alongside a few other improvements.

Cooling is becoming a major aspect of making a pc perform silently/stabily/overclockably and Im sorry to say that one of the best, if not the best review site has not covered much of this area. Not being nasty to Anandtech but if that cooling roundup was the only 1 on the planet, we'd all be using the AMD stock cooler or be spending a lot more on more exotic cooling forms.

Comdex 2002 could have been a huge gift for Anandtech. I looked forward to reading the news about all the new stuff going around there. The Coolermaster Aero 7 has been a Heatsink/Fan combo that has had quite a few topics in the Cases/Cooling section. If Anandtech had have aquired a few of these items for testing and reviewing, it would have been great. However, I know that business isnt always easy and you might not have had the chance to.

Exotic overclocking techniques such as water and vapochill do not seem to be asked too often in these forums, do not receive a high volume or high quality of reply so even though it would be beneficial to widen the review service, I believe that 'Exotic cooling' should be something that Anandtech should consider at a later date.

CPU, Motherboard and Video reviews and coverage are top notch and I hope you can keep that standard going for many years to come but beyond those 3 main catagories, your scope is limited. You did some reviews on the Thermaltake Xaser II & III and this other case which I cant remember OTTOMH but the amount of reviews you do on things outside of the cpu, motherboard and video catagories is severely limited. Although my concern about gaps in your review repertoire extend only to Cooling, more 'enthusiast' items should be reviewed such as more cases and HDD reviews.

I would say that one of the best ways to determine what people want to see reviews of is look at the forums. I'll use the Cooling as mentioned above as my example. I do quite a lot of reading on the cooling section at the moment to determine how Im going to cool for my next upgrade. I read through the forum about 2-3 times per day, I have a bit more spare time at nights so I can do some research. I post a basic question about what Heatsink should I use for such an operation and Id say about 70% of people will instantly say Thermalright if its within your budget. If silence is your thing, Thermalright + Zalman will be mentioned. If you have a window in your case, maybe a Vantec Aeroflow, a Coolermaster Aero 7 or something with pretty lights. If you take a look at a forum, look at what is being mentioned and try to catagorize things then review new and old items from that catagory and compare them with existing products or with items in a different sub group. Say check out the new Thermalright 900 with various fans and compare it to the previous best heatsink/fan, a Zalman silent product and a flashy thing like an Aero 7 then you are comparing an item across the board allowing a person to determine its value to them.

Sorry if I rambled on a bit, just tried to explain what I meant.

EDIT - Competitions could be a good idea as well. A Thread about what people want to see, possibly Anandtech saying we can review Product X, Y or Z but we can only do 1 so Public, you have 24 hours to vote on this poll and we will review the product that gets the most votes.
