hmm, this post became unstickified....wonder why?
Posts can only be stickied for a limited period of time (I guess), and it's up to the Moderators to re-sticky something if they feel it still would be worth having stickied. It's likely that they just forgot, so perhaps reminding them via a PM might be a good idea. 🙂

New MSI card @ NewEgg

While I was waiting for the XFX card to come back in stock, this popped up on my searches for dual DVI solutions at NewEgg.com.

Needless to say, it has a remote, 256MB of RAM, and of course DUAL DVI to power my 191T+ LCDs. I'll be leaving a review when I get the card. 😀

Time to tally another one up on your list!

Oh no, you poor guy. That there is a 5700 non-ultra with DDR ram (as opposed to the DDR2 or DDR3 that comes on 5700 Ultras). It has a memory clock of 550MHz, almost half that of the 900-950MHz that DDR2 Ultras run (or the 1GHz of the DDR3 models). Having more ram running slower makes for one hell of a slower performer. You would have been much better off getting a 128MB 5700 Ultra for $15 less.

AOpen and InnoVision FX5700 cards now have official model numbers and web pages.

Everything else *should* be up to date.

Given the amount of connectors on AIW cards, the only hope of a dual-DVI version would have to include a daughtercard/two-slot offeringor an EVC port. Of course, I'm only guessing. Besides, we can't even get more than one real non-AIW dual-DVI card into the market!

well the AIW 9600 Pro comes with dual VGA......I guess for my purposes DVI doesn't help at all....(mostly software development, no gaming, etc).

How about a little research and a petition for DVI in a micro-ATX nForce2 / ATI or SFF form factor motherboard? So far there isn't a single motherboard that makes a decent out-of-the-box HTPC. 🙁

Are you talking dual-DVI from a mATX board or SFF? The only dual-display SFF I know are the Shuttle SN41G models. There is a DVI card for the SN41G, but with only one port. I don't know if that DVI port disables the use of one of the other VGA ports. I assume with would disable one of those VGA ports.

Besides, the HTPC folks over at AVSForum swear by their Radeons. Since ATi is just now getting into the chipset game, we may not see DVI from onboard ATI video for a little while, if ever.

looks like due to NVidia's new line of cards this thread will be useless soon (and that is not a bad thing!) way to go NVidia for dual dvi! NVidia will be my next card.

Let's hope so, GtPrOjEcTX. Hopefully someone will come up with a cool (i.e., 1-slot) solution that won't bring the PSU to its knees. Maybe that will force ATI to follow suit.

Although I won't be in the market for a long while, I'm patiently awaiting official models to be announced/go on sale ...

Well, I'm saying that this same coalition effort pushing for Dual-DVI should be applied to pushing for even a single DVI port integrated on a motherboard without a riser card. THEN comes pushing for Dual-DVI support integrated in a mainboard 😉
