How about words that have been overused to the point where they have become cliches:

racist - a white person that shows the slightest interest in their own racial identity
racist - someone from the other political party
racist - a person opposed to certain wealth redistibution schemes
racist - everyone
racist - no one becase race is just something dreamed up by ignorant folks

[I'm illustrating that this word is utterly useless. I discount 20% from my estimate of a person's IQ when they use this word.]

Kosher - when used out of its original context (ex: "that's not kosher, dude; I think it won't work")

Like - when it's overused by, like, people who, like, just feel that they, like, need to, like, use it every, like, freaking second word.

Insert three most
often used gangsta
slang words here - if you want ordinary people to understand what you're saying, please don't talk in the language of (c)rappers, who are only listened to by the young idiots that think they're cool because the RIAA says so.

*unt - I think you can figure out what this word is. It strikes me as an ugly word devoid of any redeeming value.

What the English language needs is a good euphemism for female genitalia that's not vulgar. We got 'em for male parts but not the female parts.

"Irregardless", however, is not in any edition of dictionary that I own. It's not even in the OED down at the library.

and yet...

but I mostly use it as a joke. :)
Point taken, but you will notice that the entry to which you link also says that the word is nonstandard and that it is not considered to be proper form to use the word. :)

In the ancient "King James" translation of the Bible, you can frequently find quite interesting phrases. "Baalam saddled his ass," "all the males of the house of Jereboam (sp?) that pisseth against the wall" - those are just a few I can remember from memory. :Q ;)

Well, at least I didn't have to run all over the place to figure it out. I keep my dictionaries on the shelf right above my computer. Yes, I'm that much of a geek.

Your reasoning behind everything is jealousy.

Huh? It would help if you used proper English grammar. Other than that, I think most "cuss" words are simply considered bad because that's the tradition that was handed down to your fathers and mothers by their fathers and mothers by their fathers and mothers by their fathers and mothers...

For that matter, consider that 400 years ago "piss" wasn't considered bad at all. In fact, the aforementioned word was even used in the "KJV" translation of the Bible:
For in very deed, as the LORD God of Israel liveth, which hath kept me back from hurting thee, except thou hadst hasted and come to meet me, surely there had not been left unto Nabal by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall. - 1 Samuel 25:34
So, the demand yet remains upon me to show more evidence to support my position that these words are basically taboo because of tradition. As of tonight, I am too tired to do that. If the thread is still alive tomorrow afternoon, I may find more things to say.

people who try to act smart by saying
"basically" like they are dumbing down whatever they have to say so they can tell you
i also dislike the use of "gay" as a negative term such as "this thread is gay" "you are gay''

thats about it.
((i love that c word though, nothing like walking around after trainspotting saying f---ing c--t in a scottish accent. :D ))
