supposably--even though it isn't a word
orientated--usually misused
cavity--just grosses me out
persons--pretentious
methinks--no one says it but a lot of people write it online. I loathe them.

Actually 'irregardelss' is a real word. It has an official entry in many of the newer dictionaries because of its widespread use and that makes it a word. It doesn't matter that people started saying it because they were too stupid to know any better. That is how language evolves.

The word I hate is 'gullible'. It's not in the dictionary so it is not actually a word. And people go on using it...

It is a word, if that's what you're thinking.

4 words: "I could care less." WRONG! If you actually take a moment to think about the words you say, you might discover that you're saying the opposite of what you mean!

And now, my fifth word: "grow." In the 'HR' sense (as someone earlier alluded to). I don't like it when it's used as an active verb, i.e., "grow our business." Bah.

"Gullible" is in my 1968 Webster's.

"gullible: adj. easily cheated or tricked; credulous: also sp. 'gullable'"

"Irregardless", however, is not in any edition of dictionary that I own. It's not even in the OED down at the library.

EDIT: It would seem that I'm not only gullible, I'm also so anxious to prove that I'm right that I will reply without reading the remainder of the thread.

Well, at least I didn't have to run all over the place to figure it out. I keep my dictionaries on the shelf right above my computer. Yes, I'm that much of a geek.

"Snog"

in the UK it's a term some people, mainly girls with accents (the un-posh kind) use to say kiss. Eg "hey, i just snogged acidvoodoo"

fscking horrible word, sounds like a type of beast
