You've got one of the mexican ones? Did you buy it from someone or manage to get it imported somehow?

Friend of my brother-in-law had the hookup at a dealership in Mexico, he imported quite a few, and a german mechanic welded/rivited in the 70's VINs. Brother-in-law bought one, wife made him sell (to me) when he got a truck "Waaaaaa, we don't need THREE cars!" women.

So I'm single and have three cars 😀

Wow that's awesome! Hope you're enjoying your Beetle (I've owned 4 VWs in my life, check back in the thread a few pages)

A lot of states (like PA, where I live) require mandatory annual safety inspection from a state-licensed mechanic. I hope you don't live in one of those places - unless you've got a hookup of your own, you might have to grease some palms 🙂

1971 Maverick Grabber
1976 Camaro
1980 or '81 Monte Carlo - I didn't have it for long.
1983 Camaro Z28 - I loved THIS car.
1992 Honda Prelude - Exactly like THIS one. I still have it and have been driving it more lately because of the excellent gas mileage.
1997 Nissan Kingcab 4X4
2001 Toyota Tacoma Doublecab 4X4 like THIS one.

Two of them?

Yep the first one I had while I was in the Navy and college, sold it to my brother when I bought the Charger. I put over 150k it before the original engine dropped a rod, then had it rebuilt for $500.00 and put another 100K on it. While in the Navy I did a lot of trips between Jacksonville and Northern Virginia and once we deployed on the carrier lots of trips between Norfolk and Northern Virginia. I still have a ton of VW parts in the garage that my wife is always bugging me about.
