Hi guys,

I lately bought that LIS2 Blue Eye. Think, thats a nice gimmick on my machine....It works fine, but the damn PWM-Noise.

Does anyone have a solution to get that fixed ??

I think its not very fine to reduce fannoise by generating other noises ;-(

Please help me........

Thx Stetsc

Welcome to the Forums stetsc. Sorry to hear that you are getting PWM noise from your Blue Eye. Right now I'm running my four (4) 120mm fans at full speed off the mobo headers on my A8R32-MVP since they are pretty quiet and I prefer to have the system contol the fan speeds and temps. But I never had any PWM noise when I had my fans hooked-up to my L.I.S.2 Premium VFD and was using MBM5 to control the fans in my old K8N Neo2 PE system either.

Have you tried the L.I.S.2 MMCC (Multimedia Control Center) software to see if it fixes the PWM noise? The current version is v2.2.2.6 (released 1/12/2006) and supports SpeedFan. I'm running SpeeedFan v4.28. I don't know if the MMCC software will help but its' worth a try. You can download the software at VL Systems.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

Hi Aries64,

I tried out the new Version and FanSpeed (wow, powerfull tool), now i can config MCC to regulate fans according to more temp-infos. but the PWM-Noise is still there, because it only appears when fans run less than 100%.

Maybe they fixed this with the premium VFD.

I have to reconfigure my system next time, so i maybe purchase the premium VFD and resale te blueEye...

Thanks for so long, aries64....

If anyone has an idea else, feel free to tell me

Look....PWM noise has never been fixed by VL Systems on any of their products. In fact they ignore questions on the subject. M-Cubed, an Austrian compant that makes the T-Balancer makes a devive called an attenuator. It can stop most PWM noise.....fairly cheap. I'm using these things with my LIS2 Premium.

Hey Bluefront,

thanks for this advice.....

This means, i need four Attenuators for my four fans, and connect them between the LIS and the fans. Once done so, the noise should be gone ??? And you say that works......

Hope so...

It's worth a try anyway. Different fans are affected by PWM controllers to different degrees. My Yate Loon fans made awful humming noises with the LIS2. The attenuators fixed the problem.

When I tried some Globe fans with the same setup, there was no PWM noise. But I've tried those attenuators on a number of fans.....stopped the PWM noise on all of them. These attenuators have connectors for two fans each (of course using it this way will make each fan run at the same voltage).

Hello Guys, Hello Bluefront,

wow, it works, I just got these Atenuators from Austria. I plugged them and......the machine is quiet like I never thought it could be.... Thats great.

Big thanks for that hint, Bluefront !!!

When I look carefully at these Atenuators, I can't believe, that VL-Systems wasn't able to configure the LIS not to be noisy. There are only some resistors and a condensator in it.

But never mind, now it works, and that was the goal.......

Thanks.......
