anyone ever do a lip spoiler install themself and need to drill into the trunk? They "recommend professional install" for these things but it seems anyone who's used a drill before may be able to do it... thoughts?

Personally I would avoid drilling holes, if at all possible. Is this for your x5? make/model?

Some of the newer (last 5-6 years) 3m double sided tape is very VERY strong... Def enough to hold a lip spoiler on while allowing for removal, if required. The tape itself is black, with red wax backing. It works very well.

no it's for a '13 Sonata that my wife is letting me play with. 😉 Seems all the ones on the market require the holes - do you mean get my own 3m tape?

Pretty common for Vette owners to add the lip spoiler at home. Just use some lipstick on the end of the screws to mark the area of the paint to drill.
