Lions fire Marinelli

And this is why they will continue to suck, they somehow kept the offensive coordinator , and retained Millen's two yes men to the top positions in the organization , complete fail.
 
Rod Marinelli was the least of the Lions problems. Nobody could win with that team.

They need to quit drafting receivers and build up an offensive and defensive line. Get your running game going. Kevin Smith/Rudi Johnson are a strong 1-2 tandem of RBs. Smith had a good year considering how horrible the rest of the team is. Forget the skill positions, they are fine for the time being. get someone in there who can block, and then rush the passer. Makes everything else easier.

The offensive side of the ball wasn't the problem. I don't know the exact number, but something like 8 of their last 10 games they were leading going into halftime. They just don't have the defese to hang with tems. They can't defend the run. Their pass rush sucks. And the secondary just disappears on things like screens and draws. The entire defensive side of the ball needs a housecleaning.

The sad thing is that this is a team that was a 7 win club last year.
