Lion space eater

Basically as per title, osx lion on IMac has eaten all the hard drive space :/ what can I do to remedy the situation.
Thank you AT in advance for your help.

Could we please get the specs of your iMac, and an idea of how big the hard drive is and what you have on it?

I on the other hand, my Lion doesn't seem to eat up my hard drive space. It seems pretty efficient, surprising, really, considering it's fancy loaded OS. Me likey!

You can use the app Monolingual and delete all the languages except for english. Warning: Do not delete any items for keyboard or cpu support.

Are you sure it is Lion and not something else? It used to be that Photoshop (many versions ago) would get out of control and start eating all the space on my hard drive.

the Imac is one of the new ones it is the 21.5" 500 gig model. the stuff that is on it is photoshop and ms office, mostly large tiff files as well.

Download DaisyDisk (they have a free trial) and see what is eating the space. Like I said, it was a version of Photoshop (this was back in 06 or 07) that was causing the issue for me back in the day.

Anyway, get Daisy Disk, run it, and see what you can find.

Seriously, everytime I browse this section of the forum and see this topic I keep mistaking for "Lion Space Heater".

O.O)

haha maybe it would be a space heater if it ran on some of them 3800 amds 😛

In any event turns out it was the mail app resending the same message or something and it kept duplicating the attached file that was 380mb. And that folks is how you lose 400 gigs to mail within a week.

Big thanks to thestu for daisy disk, get the app even if u don't have a problem, it's pretty cool!

Till next time AT,

Cheers!
