Linx cannot identify my monitor.

I am trying to install Mandrake 9.0 or Redhat 8.0. I have some success with Mandrake 9.0. It does install properly and writes to the MBR and then boots up. When i choose Linux from the list of options it gets me in to the text mode and not in the graphics mode. If i set it up to go to graphics mode automatically the system just gives me a blank screen. I think it's either because of my Video card or it is because of my monitor. I am using Dell 1702FP monitor and my video card is GeForce3 Ti200 AGP. Any help appreciated.

Boot into text mode, login, and run one of the X configuration programs as root. You can also try installing the nVidia drivers.

I am trying to find out how to do this ? I logged on as root in the text mode. How to run the xconfiguration ? Also i am downloading the latest nvidia drivers from their website. The .glx and the kernel driver file. How do i install those drivers ?

Probably something along the lines of /usr/X11/bin/xf86config but I cannot tell you for sure because your distro may put it somewhere else. Consult the documentation.

They have instructions on the site and I wrote a how-to/faq here for it. Read those, then ask questions.
