no, unless you run emulators, and if you don't know linux well you will probably have a hard time getting the emulators to work.

Duh, it's loading EVERYTHING from a CD. Still, that's why it's so awesome. It installs NOTHING. Nothing remains on your HD when you reboot. So Windows will work the same once you finish with Knoppix.
 
You could also use VMWare and install Linux on a virtual machine inside Windows.
As for other distros, there are many. There's Fedora 3, Debian, Gentoo, SuSe, and others, those are some of the popular ones.
