Linux + Win2k network components

I plan on networking 2 machines, a RedHat 7 and Win2k. I'm thinking I'll need:

1. Samba
2. FAT kernel module

for my Red Hat system in order for these 2 to read and write to each other's drives. Am I missing anything?

Get the most up to date samba code. There have been problems reported here with samba 2.2 + win2k sp2

I don't use SP 2 ,but I'll check on the new Samba.
