Alright, I know about samba, but I am hoping there is an easier method. heres the deal. I have a laptop with redhat 7.1 and my desktop runs win2kpro. I am planning on taking my laptop to school (to download stuff off their fat T1) and bring it back to my apartment, and hopefully transfer to my desktop.
what would the best method be for transferring files between them?
what I had in mind was this: Use the routing service on win2k box to let laptop access internet (that is another goal) at my apartment, is this possible? if so, can I just set up an ftp server on my laptop (or vice versa) and simply download from it like any other server (using whatever IP I use while routing)?
thanks for any help
