Linux support for nForce

FYI
I was wondering about linux support in nforce and found that.
it's short, here it is

"GameSpyDaily: I noticed on the features list for the nForce that Linux drivers will be available. Would the Linux drivers also be an All-in-One driver or would it be separate drivers for each part of the board?

Bryan: At this time, we expect Linux support to be included.

GameSpyDaily: I'll assume that the drivers for Linux will all be closed source like the current 3d drivers available today. Is this correct?

Bryan: Yes."

bryan is Bryan Del Rizzo, NVIDIA's PR Manager

and of course how many people will use them? most people I know won't install vendor kernel modules at all, esp closed source ones.

The problem is the second you load a binary-only kernel module you basically taint the kernel, so submitting a bug report (no matter how valid) to the lkml will be ignored, to debug your system you have to reconfigure the system to use the open nv driver (provided it gets 2d nForce support like it has for Geforce and older cards) and remove all the nVidia special OpenGL libs, not the optimal position for anyone involved.

Well if they don't we can still rip BSD drivers off ya ;0)
