I am running RedHat 7.3 which I just recently installed, and I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card. Here is what's happening: When I start up X (I'm using KDE) I get an error message saying "Sound server informational message:Error while initializing the sound driver:
device /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such device)The sound server will continue, using the null output device." Obviously, I get no sound. However, when I restart X I get no error message and the sound works. The sound card is detected when RedHat loads and I'm just using whatever default drivers it gave me when I installed. How can I make the sound work the first time I boot up?
