Linux Server - doing NAT & DHCP

Alright behind a linux server @ home (I am MCSE not linux guy by any means my new roomie is though) just moved in - yesterday I played COD2 and could launch xfire, and hop into a ventrilo server just fine and dandy - however all of a sudden today - COD2 experiences frequent lag time - xfire times out - and I cannot jump in ventrilo at all. I can telnet into all the ports (get a login but that means the port is open) connection works, but its extremely laggy - I've chcked all the rates for the traffic - and everything SEEMS to be ok. Just wondering if anyone has anyt houghts or ideas?

no one?

FYI I've checked out the arp tables - switches are running fine and dandy.. hence why I ping the gateway (the server fine)

It sounds like a bunch more people moved in and got set up as well.

What kind of shared bandwidth do you have?

The chances of the Linux box being at fault are virtually nil, especially considering that it was fine earlier. The only thing I can think of right now is that either the NIC didn't negotiate right (it picked 100M/H instead of 100M/F or something) and you're getting a lot of retransmits or something is dying hardware-wise like a NIC, switchport, etc.
