Linux router software?

Isnt there some version of linux (or some linux program), that fits on a floppy disk that lets a computer act as a router.

Where can I get that software? I'm having a hell of a time getting this old POS to use ICS properly.

Ya mod, maybe you didnt realize, but the problem is my network cards. Therefore it is a hardware problem, and is ON TOPIC.

But thanks for locking the thread, I appreciate it.

<< sure thing. you using a cable connection? >>

Yes, and now its saying it cant find either of my network cards.

They say its "insanely easy" to setup... pfft!

off to the manuals again

from freesco manual:

<<
[*]Don't be lazy, read this manual carefully.
[*]Never edit any config files from DOS. Always edit them from FREESCO or from another linux(unix).
[*]Read manual
[*]Before installation make sure your computer (router) is in a proper working condition and all hardware (ethernet cards, modems etc installed in it) work proper in this computer.
[*]RTFM
[*]Never use winmodems.
[*]Before reporting of bugs and problems read this manual and a web support forum.

rofl 🙂

damnit, now why wont it detect my damn network cards!

<< freesco works very good, and is very secure, id recommend it highly >>

I've already decided to use it, I just cant get it to work.

I stayed up till 3am trying to get it too work before I went home because I had class at 9. Thanks freesco, you made me fall asleep in math class 😀

[*]D-Link 528CT (PCI) - I haven't tried downloading new drivers yet, so I'll try that when I get home.

[*]NE2000 Compatible Generic (ISA) - Should be supported right away (According to the site)

I had the same problem with FreeSCO when I tried to use it... it couldnt detect one of my 2 network cards...

I switched to using Coyote Linux instead, and it worked perfectly...

It's also very easy to setup, just follow their manual and u should be able to figure it out...
