I have 5 drives. 1 200GB PATA, 2 250 GB SATA, and 2 400GB SATA.

250GB need to be mirrored. The 1TB can be stripped, or o/w just combined into a massive volume as it will just be used for tv and HD recordings. What I need to know is what is the best way of doing this?

How would having different sizes and interfaces affect my options?

Thanks.

Since you've already divided the drives up in your head and know how you want it setup it should be pretty simple, the different interfaces is irrelevant. Hell you could even partition them up and RAID the partitions if you wanted. Althought, having the 3 drives as one big linear volume is just asking for trouble though, if one drive goes you lose the entire array.
