Linux Question

I wanted to install linux.
This is my first attempt and would like something user friendly.

Which distro is the best for new users
Corel
mandrake
Red hat
Suse
other..

I would like to download it and not pay for it. Is it legally possible or do I have to pay to buy one of the above distros..

Linux is free for download last time I looked. Don't know where though.

You can download about any of them.I recommend you buy a distro with a manual if you are new.

Mandrake 8.1 is a good choice and you will not go wrong with RH7.1 or 7.2.

you can also find the mirror sites where you can download the files. Try Redhat.com or Mandrakes' website for a list of mirrors
