Linux question

i'm starting to learn about Linux as i have had enough of Windoze, but i have a question. can i run my windows programs(Unreal Tournament, Diablo II etc.) in Linux, or do i have to buy different versions to use with it?

You could use vmware or win4lin for applications but for games... You'll want to check and see if they release a linux version for free (that uses the data files off the windows version cd so you still have to buy the game)...

Just type "linux games" in a search engine. There is a whole website dedicated to it - (maybe linuxgames.com? dunno).

Check out HappyPenguin.org, they're pretty much THE linux game site.

Also, you'll want to look into Wine at WineHQ.com. Wine is a Windows library compatibility project, it's been able to run at least Half-Life for quite some time now. (Dunno about Diablo 2)

Another option would be to dual-boot windows and Linux... Very easy to do with distros like Redhat and Mandrake...
