just curious if any of you quake players run linux.

ive played both quake 3 and quake 4 with linux, and its def. a change from windows.
i remember the only reason i tried linux with quake 3 was because of the framerate increase.

with quake 4, i went to linux again mainly because i missed having a challenge, well... i missed having the features linux has.

so now i have mandriva 2006 on my rig, and of course quake 4. mandriva 2006 is awesome btw, its the easiest distro ive ever delt with.

quake + linux = me happy.

I have done it. I use ubuntu and gentoo now. Don't really care for the direction Mandrake took. But yes iD does amazing things on linux especially if you have Nvidia tech.

yeah, I remember running fedora core and quake 3. I got 20-25 more fps then I did in windows. As for quake 4, it feels pretty much the same as windows. It does seem to load a little fast though. As for framerate, I have not done a benchmark, but I think I will today after work.
