Linux problems

Im running RH 7.1 and am having problems getting Esetroot to load a background image (.jpg). When I run: Esetroot /home/user/background.jpg it returns: Esetroot: Unable to load image file "/home/user/background.jpg". I checked permissions on the .jpg.. looks fine. Still pretty new with linux... the pathname is correct... i think I may be missing some sort jpg lib or module or something? ....any help or suggestions would be great!

Be sure the path exactly match the uppercase/lowercase. This might be the problem. (BTW, what's Esetroot? Don't know..) Also try to open the file on the same account with another program (Metscape/Mozilla/Gimp for example)

Path is correct as I am using autocomplete to verify the filename. Also, I am able to bring up the .jpg file using either my user account and root. Esetroot from what I understand is included with Eterm. Basically I am using the blackbox window manager and I would like to get Eterm working the way I want to use transperant windows. Esetroot allows you to load a pic as your desktop window which Eterm expects to see I guess. I can load a background image useing xsetbg but Eterm says it can't use -trans unless I load the pic with Esetroot.
